From the early days of crafting bird boxes and go-karts in my dad’s workshop, I’ve always had a deep passion for building and creating things from wood. My journey started as a carpenter in construction, but after spending two transformative years travelling and working in Australia, I discovered a new love for landscaping and garden design.
Upon returning to Devon in 2009, I resumed my work in construction, specialising in kitchen fitting and garden room projects. It was in 2019 that I found my true calling—installing wooden barrel hot tubs and saunas. My passion for building and using saunas has only grown since then, leading to the creation of our business, Sol Saunas – Sauna construction in Devon, UK and mainland Europe, where craftsmanship and relaxation come together.
What We Do
Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of planning, building, and installing bespoke saunas for clients across the UK and Europe. From low round-ceiling basement saunas to off-grid log-burning saunas, our projects are as varied as they are unique, tailored to fit the individual needs of each client.
Our dedicated team can take your ideas from a simple sketch to a fully realised, functional sauna without the need for any third-party involvement. We pride ourselves on delivering a seamless experience from concept to completion.
In addition to creating new saunas, we specialise in breathing new life into old, tired ones. Whether it’s replacing benches, wall panelling, or adding luxurious features like backrests, lighting, and Himalayan salt walls, we transform your sauna into a rejuvenating retreat.
Beyond saunas, we also design and build complete commercial and garden spa rooms. These can include steam rooms, hot tubs, plunge pools, heated loungers, and showers—everything you need to create your perfect sanctuary. Please contact us for more information.
